After the overwhelming response of our first activity this day marked the second activity in the saga of LiLLi.
This time we were lucky to have spend time with the children of "Nethaji Mercy Home-Velacherry,Chennai" on the eve of diwali. Fortunatley we had so much to celebrate!
After the usual games and prizes we did spend some valuable time with the children of this home.
Not to miss the diwali presents and savouries :)

A day well spent! What a joy I say to spend time with innocent kids! We loved it !

பனித் துளியும் புல்லுக்குச் சுகம்தான் - அதை
மற்றவர்கள் பார்த்து மகிழும் போது!
சுமைகளும் சுகம் தான் -அதை

For the first time we conducted a online meeting for LiLLi!

Thanks to technology!

Baring few technical hitches the meeting was hassle free and went on very well.

It was an amazing experience, we did make a couple of important decisions about LiLLi !

Definitely the first event has lots of impact on the way we look at LiLLi.Anyways we are glad things are moving in the right track :)

We did make lots of intermediate plans to hold our next meeting immediately after the first event.After so many rounds of discussion and phone call , finally we decided to meet after the first event on this day.
Mani,SD,Sudhan,Annamalai,Ashok,Ram ,Sakthi and I met at CCD Adyar.Besides discussing about so many things in detail we also wanted to mark this moment with a pinch of celebration.
As expected we did do justice to our digestive system and party-ied in our own way!
Besides the fun and frolic moments its worth mentioning that we did discuss about lots of serious and prominent issues!
Finally it was a time well spent!
As always after the meeting Ashok did forward the MoM with all the action points!

June 07th 2009 “If you can’t feed a hundred people, together we can”- LiLLi
As said, together we have kick started our first activity for LiLLi. Definitely a moment to cherish!
Here I attempt to brief the happenings on that day ! Certainly whatever is written here is just a glimpse of a mountain of blissful moments!

All our volunteers gathered at the home around 3 PM in the afternoon.They were welcomed warmly by the home in charge and naughty Little kids.Things were nt the same after that. Our volunteers mingled freely with the kids creating a feeling of comfort and pleasure among the kids. Not to miss the zeal and vigour of the kids who were involved actively in all the events We had events like Memory Game,Word Building,Lemon and Spoon,Hitting the target and couple of other games.Fun and frolic moments were countless in each of these events.Besides having fun the kids also proved their ability and prowess in a profound manner.Unanimously all the volunteers felt that the kids deserved better life!

Further our volunteers proved their talent by playing cricket with the kids ;) Definitely a fun filled moment for the Kids who had helluva time cracking pranks on each one of them!Hope our volunteers will take their feedback :) After all the events , the volunteers evaluated the performances and declared the winners amidst huge applause! All the kids received at least one prize and couple of them got more :) Ashok was the cameraman who took most of the snaps, Mani hosted most of the events and the rest of the volunteers like Pradeep,SD,Ram,Kanaga and Sumathy took charge all other requirements happily! Later in the evening Shoes , Socks were distributed to the kids along with the sweets and prizes! Finally an evening well spent! Long Live LiLLi !

After many rounds of discussion finally we decided upon a template for LiLLi which will be used for reminder mails on a month on month basis!
The first mail of such kind was sent today and the screen shot of the same is as follows!

May 30 th 2009
This day could be marked as another major set through in the saga of LiLLi
Pradeep,SD, Ashok and myself visited the children's home near Paadi,Chennai
We met around 15 children and their care takers.
But to our surprise we also met,couple of other groups who volunteered to help that home.
We met a person called Sunil from Perot Systems,Chennai.He was explaining us about the kind of work they do there and also explained us about the funding details
He also appreciated our efforts as a group and he really liked the name LiLLi :)
Further we also met two people named Saravanan and Adith from an emerging NGO called "Helping Hands".They are a small group of 180 people and they work in cities like Chennai and Bangalore.It was really nice to know people with similar mind set.We also got their contact numbers and the response has been quite positive.Adith has already started interacting on a regular basis :)Good for a start!

Not to miss , the care takers of the home welcomed us with a hot cup of tea and genuine smile :)
The children were very nice and with all their childhood vigour and smile.The group includes Naveen(National level Archer champ),Vignesh(eldest of all),Iyyappan,Rishi,Tamim Anzari,Manikandan,Chinnamani,Vinodh,Praveen,Aadhi,Shahul and et al!
We did spend some amount of time with them.Shared a couple of pranks and it was fun filled evening!Finally we discussed about the plans for next week and promised them that we will be back in the coming week.!

After parting from the little children , we bid adieu to them and left to Annanagar Bata showroom to check for the rates for shoes and socks! Later on we all parted ways and reached home happily!

Finally it was a evening well spent! :)
